Kaya is a mom to three beautiful girls and works as an art therapist.  Before meeting her at her session I didn’t even realize art therapists were a thing but I kind of love the idea now. Also, like so many young girls and women, for most of her life she struggled with her body image.  She never fully appreciated her body or felt like she was enough.  Oh how this resonates with me.

For a long time, she worried that she was a terrible role model for her stepdaughter. If she couldn’t love herself or her own body, how could she truly show up for her?  Everything began to shift after the birth of her first daughter in 2020. She was able to truly see what her body could do.  Having a baby helped her to witness her body’s strength, resilience and power.  Since then, after welcoming another daughter, she’s never looked back.  Today, she feels whole, beautiful, and powerful-scars and all.  Her body tells the story of life, growth, and love.  She’s learned to honor it for all it’s done and accomplished.

With most of my sessions I like to hear from my clients.  I love to hear their stories and see how they felt about their session.

A little bit from Kaya herself!

“Initially decided to do a boudoir session as a special gift for my husband. I wanted to see myself through his eyes. I hoped to celebrate my beauty, feel more confident in my skin, and embrace how I look in different outfits”

“I felt somewhat self-conscious about being that vulnerable with someone I didn’t know.”

“The number one reason is how safe and confident she makes you feel. Everything else—great photos, artistry, value—flows from that sense of comfort and trust she creates.”

“My favorite part of the session was getting to feel like a model—confident, beautiful, and powerful. I also loved getting to know Sarah and hearing her story.”

“Changes I’ve noticed in myself include viewing myself differently. I no longer question whether what I’m doing looks weird or think, “How does this look to him?” I’ve seen myself from all angles, and I love myself. I have broken the locks that once kept me contained, and now I’m free to be fully myself and truly present with my husband. I love me.”
