This year, I turn 50.

And honestly, that number feels different than I expected. Because when I look at where I am right now, I don’t feel like I’m fading into the background or slowing down. I feel more confident, more grounded, and more like myself than I ever have before.

Letting Go of Who I Thought I Had to Be

There was a time when I believed confidence came from looking a certain way, hitting certain milestones, or having everything perfectly figured out. But over the years, I’ve learned that real confidence doesn’t come from perfection—it comes from acceptance. From letting go of the constant pressure to be better, smaller, younger, or different… and finally allowing yourself to just be who you are.

At 50, I’m no longer chasing perfection. I’m choosing peace with myself. And that feels incredibly freeing.

Seeing Myself Differently

Our bodies change. Life leaves its marks both physically and emotionally. For a long time, I think many of us are taught to see those changes as something to hide or fix. But what if we didn’t? What if we saw them as proof of everything we’ve lived through?

Strength. Growth. Resilience.

This is something I witness every single day through boudoir. Women walk into my studio carrying insecurities and doubts, and then they see their images and realize they are so much more than the stories they’ve been telling themselves.

And now, at 50, I understand that transformation on a deeper level than ever before.

Confidence Looks Different Now

Confidence in my 20’s was finally figuring out what I wanted to do in life.  Confidence in my 30’s was being a fantastic mom.

But confidence at 50? It feels like freedom. Freedom to stop apologizing for who you are. Freedom to take up space. Freedom to enjoy yourself without guilt or hesitation. And that’s a kind of confidence I wish more women felt sooner.

Why I’m Celebrating This Birthday Differently

Reaching this milestone made me reflect on how often women put themselves last.  How we wait for the “right time,” the “right body,” or the “right circumstances” before we allow ourselves to be celebrated.

So this year, instead of quietly letting my birthday pass by, I decided to do something that feels aligned with everything I believe in.

I’m celebrating by giving back.

As I turn 50 (and my friend Jessica from Jamin’ T Shirts turns 40), we’re hosting a special giveaway to celebrate women. The ones who give so much of themselves to everyone else, often without ever stopping to do something just for them.

Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned by this point in my life, it’s this: You don’t need to wait for permission or the perfect moment to celebrate yourself.

A New Chapter

I’m choosing to look at this birthday a little differently. It feels like a new chapter. One where I’m more comfortable in my own skin, more confident in my voice, and more passionate than ever about helping other women see their own beauty and strength.

And if you’ve been waiting for a sign to do something for yourself…

To step in front of the camera
To try something that feels a little scary
To finally see yourself in a new light

Maybe this is it.

Maybe this birthday—and this giveaway—is your reminder that you’re allowed to be celebrated too.

Check out my VIP Group on Facebook to learn about the Giveaway and how to enter.  We will be giving away an empowerment package: Boudoir shoot along with some special empowering goodies from Jamin’ T Shirts. This giveaway will run from April 1, 2026 through Mother’s Day 2026.
