Teri is a 35 year old woman. She’s a mother to a beautiful 12 year old daughter and wife to a wonderful man. Somehow, along the way she seems to have lost herself. Teri chose to do a boudoir session to help remind herself who she really is. As women do, we are always caring for others. We have a tendency to put ourselves on the back burner. One day, we look in the mirror and no longer recognize the woman looking back at us.
Teri, going into your shoot, were you nervous about anything?
“Going into the shoot I was nervous that I wouldn’t know what to do or how I would look. Sarah is SO awesome at making you feel comfortable and confident though.”
Why did you choose to book with Sarah?
” When you’re booking a boudoir photo shoot, it’s kind of nerve wracking because you are vulnerable. As women, we aren’t always comfortable in our own skin, even though we are a beautiful human being. When you book with Sarah, she’s not just a photographer she becomes more like a friend. She makes you feel beautiful and she brings out the confidence in you. She will walk you through every step.”
What was your favorite part of your session?
“The feeling I got when I saw my photos!!! Seeing my true beauty, and amazed at her artwork. Yes! This is me at 35 and DAMN, I’VE NEVER LOOKED BETTER!”
Have you noticed any changes in yourself since your shoot?
“I have to say, it’s an amazing feeling to find yourself. I now look in the mirror and recognize the woman looking back at me. I have realized that I need to stop and take time out for myself.”
I absolutely love this for Teri. Seriously, she’s just as amazing inside as she is outside. I truly loved getting to talk with her and getting to know her better. Honestly, I have 3 favorite parts to every single boudoir session. The first is getting to truly know all of these amazing women. Often, it really does start to feel like we are old friends.
My second favorite part of boudoir sessions is obviously the creation of these amazing images. Boudoir really is my art and passion. Creating is what makes me happy and I’m blessed that I get to do what I love each and every day.
And, my third part and probably the most rewarding part of being a boudoir photographer is seeing the changes in the women I work with after their sessions. You can see these women exude a little bit of confidence and acceptance that they didn’t have before. I love seeing how healing and comforting these sessions are for women!
